POSITION PROFILE Perform a frontline leadership role in support of
manufacturing associates in assigned work area; within the defined
team or area - lead and coordinate associate activities and
operation. Ensure that associates are working safely, efficiently
and the production schedule is adhered to. Responsible for the
operational and Safety training of associates on team Performs
Safety, Quality and Lean audits, records data in appropriate
systems (Velocity, Lotus Notes, Lean DNA) Drives performance - both
operational & safety and reports issues to Supervisor. This
includes monitoring attendance, punctuality, and participating in
performance reviews. Encourages teamwork and support among
associates in area of responsibility Ensures sufficient staff to
meet production needs, balances line to maintain product flow
according to mix Ensures job assignments during shift support the
achievement of production goals Oversees training for new and
advancing Operators and maintains the area training skills matrix
Provides technical support and guidance to line associates, in
order to enhance productivity and quality Monitors quality on
assigned area and takes appropriate action to resolve issues within
scope reports to supervisor for direction where necessary Complete
and/or monitor production charts and documentation performs
administrative tasks, initiates action appropriately as information
dictates Evaluate scrap/waste/rework during shift, assesses causes,
and initiates corrective actions within scope Generates data for
recommendations longer term preventive solutions for safety,
quality, waste and operational issues Participates in CI process -
leads assigned CI activities Lead area in absence of supervisor,
including overtime shifts Required Skills: Verbal and written
communication skills Should possess problem solving skills and
facilitate group meetings. Computer skills Oracle/EBS- JDE,
Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Knowledge of
manufacturing operations Knowledge of fundamental Safety principles
for an industrial work environment Must have experience with
process improvement. Skilled in the operation of manufacturing
equipment for designated area Some lean manufacturing knowledge &
implementation Knowledge of ISO 14001/9001 required. Strong skills
in the following areas: Leadership Communication (written & verbal)
Analytical Organization Required Experience: Bachelor's degree
preferred, High School Diploma or GED equivalent required or
equivalent combination of experience and training or education
Three to five years of manufacturing experience preferred
