Job Title: Warehouse Material Handler IShift Hours: 3pm - 11:30pmPay: $23.25 + $1.00 shift differentialSummaryThis position is responsible for assisting in managing and maintaining inventory. This individual will also maintain department records for inventory tracking, shipping and receiving order, etc. Orders will be received and loaded using company SOPs. Cycle and physical counts. This position will float between all warehouse locations on an as needed bases within a 10 mile radius.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Contributes to and follows operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current. Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment. Makes appropriate corrective actions. Prepares work orders for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment.Confers with department heads to ensure coordination of warehousing activities with activities of other functions such as production, sales, records control, and purchasing. Directs salvage of damaged or used materials. Receive and store ingredients, finished goods, packaging and other items as requested. Pre-stage ingredients and packing material for operators. Experience with hand held computer. Maintain ingredients and material in a First In First Out (FIFO) basis. Must be organized, motivated, and a team player that can work well under pressure. Maintains communications within production team ensuring smooth shift transitions, etc. Must follow all safety procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices. Associated degree or higher preferred; or two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.ExperiencePreferably at least 4 years of forklift experience in a food manufacturing environment.Knowledge and SkillsMust possess the knowledge and understanding of basic math skills including weight calculations, averages and percentages. Must be able to read and write in English.Travel RequirementsNone as part of normal job requirements; but travel may occur per management due to training needsWork Environment/Physical Demands:Approximately; 100% of work is performed in a warehouse facility which is not climate controlled and may contain allergens.
