Epic Analyst/Builder - Professional Billing, Full Time, St. Luke's Center

His/Her responsibilities include optimization of the application through development of new functionality, testing and implementing scheduled vendor releases and system upgrades, and fixing system defects. He/She will provide technical and functional application analysis, define system requirements and develop logical data models using best practices for build and configuration, maintenance and data integrity. The Applications Analyst will also ensure application changes follow change management procedures and protocols, create and maintain all documentation for all assigned applications and develop, plan and execute testing for supported applications. He/She will communicate all necessary application changes, enhancements and procedures to all necessary department teams.The intent of this job description is to provide a summary of the major duties and responsibilities of this position and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the position. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* Provide ongoing maintenance, support and development to assigned applications and implement new products.* Participates on new implementation / installation project teams.* Troubleshoot, research, and solve technically challenging problems involving integrated systems.* Tests and verifies software releases, upgrades and any changes prior to the promotion of code to the production environment.* Generate and update appropriate documentation as per policy and procedure. Including requirements, specifications, change control, end user documentation.* Provide education and training for application end user community - keeping them informed of new release feature/functionality, changes/revisions that impact the operation.* Create and route required operational and management reporting needs as required by management and regulatory agencies.* Familiar with process improvement, demand management and project management methodologies.* Maintain current knowledge of technology by attending appropriate continuing education training/seminars and reading related periodicals.* Level 2 support for Application related issues.* On-Call Support Required* Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/ Entity as well as the proper release of information.* Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements.* Demonstrates/models the Network's Service Excellence Standards of Performance in interactions with all customers (internal and external).* Demonstrates Performance Improvement in the following areas as appropriate: Clinical Care/Outcomes, Customer/Service Improvement, Operational System/Process, and Safety.* Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes and practices. Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code.* Performs additional duties dependent on department requirements.* Other related duties as assigned.PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS: Sitting for up to 7 hours per day, 4 hours at a time; standing for up to 7 hours per day, 4 hours at a time; walking for up to 2 hours a day, 1 hour at a time. Requires crouching, kneeling, and lifting of objects weighing up to 60 pounds, pushing objects weighing up to 80 pounds. Requires hand and finger dexterity to perform repairs of small equipment and to use computer equipment. Seeing as it relates to general, near, color, and peripheral vision. Hearing as it relates to normal and telephone conversations.EDUCATION:Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or Healthcare Administration or equivalent work experience is preferred.CERTIFICATIONS: Epic experience and certification is required or must become certified in Epic applicationsTRAINING & EXPERIENCE:General:* 1 - 2 years of Healthcare experience is preferred.* 1 - 2 years of Revenue Cycle Application experience is preferred.* 1 - 2 years of PC/LAN Support experience is preferred1 - 2 years of General Computer experience is required.* PC and Printer knowledge and experience is preferred.* Knowledge of professional billing and professional billing claims is preferredApplication Experience:* Epic Application or healthcare IT experience is preferred* Call Management System, MS Visio, MS Project experience is preferred.* MS Office is requiredHospital Operations Knowledge / Experience:* General, Radiology, Pharmacy, Nursing, Physician Services, Laboratory, Patient Care Services, hospital revenue and Patient processing experience preferred.GENERAL WORK SCHEDULESchedule set based on department in which position resides.
