- Position Definition: The Itinerant Remedial Reading and
Mathematics Teacher shall provide assistance to nonpublic schools
and IU staff in curriculum, instructional improvement, and
professional development as related to remediation and success for
all students, including responsibility for program development and
implementation of Remedial Reading and Mathematics Services in a
classroom setting under the auspices of Act 89. Relationship: The
Itinerant Remedial Reading and Mathematics Teacher shall be
responsible to the Supervisor of Special Programs and Services that
is assigned to direct and coordinated all nonpublic school
services. Qualifications: Education/Experience:
- PDE certification in Grades PK-4, preferred.
- PDE certification in Reading Specialist,
required.Skills/Knowledge:
- Demonstrates a proficient understanding and utilization of
Microsoft Office Suite and other software packages for use in the
Special Program and Services Department.
- Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively with external
and internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrates the ability to maintain complete
confidentiality.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrated by
patience, understanding, and congeniality.

Teacher will have the authority to perform all functions listed
below in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Functions/Duties/Responsibilities: To perform this job

to monitor student progress and guide instruction.
