Job SummaryThe Nursing Assistant Educator develops, implements, and cooperates in the evaluation of a Nursing Assistant Residency program.
Job Duties

  • Participate in the development of curriculum for a Nursing Assistant Residency program, that incorporates evidence-based instructional practices to support the outcomes delineated in the Nursing Assistant Competency index. - Curriculum development includes participation by the Nursing Assistant Educator and Nursing Professional Development team.
  • Develop and implement a two-day - training for interns, externs and co-op students on topics outlined in the Nursing Assistant Residency Program.
  • Develop and implement course outlines, lesson plans, and examinations to meet the academic and behavioral objectives of the Nursing Assistant Residency program.
  • Develop, keep current handouts and materials for Nursing Assistant residents.
  • Develop and keep current presentations to align with practices and policies and the Nursing Assistant residency curriculum.
  • Coordinate presenters as appropriate in the delivery of the Nursing Assistant Residency curriculum.
  • Observe, evaluate, and document student performance and progress in classroom and clinical settings.
  • Establish, observe, provide feedback and individually document work attributes of Nursing Assistant residents such as, but not limited to, being on time, attendance, appropriate attire, teamwork, civility, etc.
  • Maintain instructional expertise in all content areas of curriculum.
  • Focuses on empirical quality outcomes related to clinical practice.
  • Serves as a strong role model in professional practice as evidenced by strong relationships with staff and members of other departments, effective communications, appropriate resource utilization and sound planning skills.
  • Actively support Magnet philosophies such as a healthy work environment, professional growth and patient and family involvement in care decisions.Work is typically performed in a clinical environment.
