Dock Specialist/Operations Coordinator

Position Summary: The Dock Specialist will coordinate between
the Operations Team and the Customer Service Team. The Customer
Service Team will interface with drivers arriving to pick up loads
of products from the warehouse and the Dock Specialist will ensure
the Operations Team focuses on the workflow so that the loading
requirements are completed in a timely, efficient manner. This
position is very much focused on ensuring that the workflow occurs
in a manner that reduces driver dwell time and on-time shipping
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other
duties may be assigned as required.
q Comply with company policies, procedures, and expected standards
of behavior.q Review daily scheduled shipment information from the
customer service group and plan accordingly to ensure seamless
execution of the shipment schedule.q Monitor the Dock Board (TV
screen) and organize loaders to meet appointment times.q Escalate
all instances of more than 120 minutes of dwell time to the
management team.q Enter daily activity information into the various
electronic platforms.q Assign outbound loads to staging lanes.q
Assign loaders to outbound loads.q Print/reprint documents as
necessary.q Ensure that order assessorial charges are correctly
handled and collected.q Work with Supervisors and Operations
Manager in achieving daily goals on dock.q Monitor, maintain and,
update schedule and board throughout shift.q Answer phones, direct
calls to appropriate party, and provide information to caller as
needed.q Work with the Operations Team to ensure that shipments are
completed in accordance to the scheduled departure time and are
accurate.q Maintain accurate and organized files for each of the
day's transactions.q Communicate with the next shift (when
applicable) any relevant information or situations.

Required Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- 1.5-2 years of recent experience in a similar role; preferably
in a fast-paced distribution environment
- Proficient with an RF Scanner
- Must have excellent communication skills; both written and
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
- Experience with WMS
- Experience with RF-based warehouse
Language Skills: Ability to speak, read, and write in the English
language. Ability to analyze and interpret general business
periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or
governmental regulations. Ability to compose reports, business
correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively
communicate information in verbal or written format and effectively
respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, employees,
customers and the general public.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and
decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages as well as
draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to correctly read, interpret
and process lengthy strings of individual digits in their correct
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to
carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables
in standardized situations.
