HOME MANAGER OF IDD COMMUNITY HOMES

Creates and promotes a culture centered on building self-directed lives with the people we support. The Home Manager is responsible for ensuring the individual is living a quality life, keeping the home in accordance with licensing regulations and in good condition, adhering to all policies and procedures, treating all Direct Support Professionals equally, and making certain all shifts for their home are covered. The Home Manager is on-call for the region or pod.

Leading Others/ Supporting the Direct Supporter Professionals

  • Provides a positive role model
  • Promotes a positive working relationship with all employees
  • Displays principles of good management and applies these principles in daily work performance
  • Supports Direct Supporters in assigned roles
  • Holds monthly supervision meetings with support staff
  • Coordinates allotted work schedule and assigned duties with supervisor. Works as part of the schedule 40 hours weekly, or as instructed, in the home as direct care.
  • Participates in the training and evaluation of Direct Support Staff
  • Completed on-call for their assigned Region or pod, and fills-in for support staff on shift when necessary
  • Serves as an on-call officer for their Region or pod; documents time spend performing on-call duties to submit for compensation; currently by on-call log and time punch spreadsheet
  • Makes recommendations for hire, supervision, and termination of employees
  • Provides education/ Directions/ Shadowing to all new employees
  • Mentors/ Trains all supporters on what works, what does not, important to and important for, and one-page description
  • Completes the house managers duties checklist of formally completed reports to regional directors as scheduled
  • Document Overtime logs & lateness reports and develops and implements plan of corrections
  • Completion of supporters evaluations
  • Completes emergency response drills
  • Provides positive reinforcement for supporters that leads to a higher retention rate

  • Assures that the persons outcomes and behavior support plans are implemented as written and are being documented
  • Provides assistance to individuals as needed

  • Assists person being supported to become part of their community
  • Assist the person to build a culture of learning, partnership, and accountability.
  • Assist the person to build a life of relationships and natural supports
  • Promotes the positive qualities of people at all times
  • Is aware and is proficient in all aspects of the person ISP, BSP, and Protocols
  • Assures the individuals have a comfortable, clean, orderly, and safe living environment
  • Promotion of wellness; coordinated medical appointments with the agency Health Services and remains aware of medical status of individuals. Attends appointments as scheduled and follows through with recommendations. Is aware of the medical status of person being supported at all times. Follows directions of Health Services as directed.
  • Notifies the director in an accurate and timely manner of unusual incidents, problems, and changes in individual Person Centered Plans/ISP
  • Ensures the environment remains free of hazards for the individuals we support
  • Coordinates, prepares, and reviews the household and maintenance records and ensures they are kept accurate, completed and up to date
  • Ensures the programmatic and behavioral routines are followed as established; follows established procedures when making changes
  • Evaluates and appropriately acts in emergency situations, assists as needed. Follows sound directions of supervisor when given.
  • Completes grocery shopping (with individual is required if person wishes to otherwise preferred). This may be in person or on-line, depending on the procedure of the Region.
  • Responsible for ensuring the home has 3 days of food at all times and that the food is accounted for.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2 years' experience working with people with intellectual disabilities or Autism.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid PA Drivers' License.
