Job Description and QualificationsPosition summaryThe Senior Internal Auditor will be performing individual internal audits, as part of the overall internal audit plan. This responsibility includes developing the internal audit scope, performing internal audit procedures, and preparing internal audit reports. Internal audits cover functional and operating units and may address compliance, financial, operational and IT processes. In addition, you will perform follow-up on the status of outstanding internal audit issues. You will also assist internal audit management with development of the annual internal audit plan, and by championing internal control and corporate governance concepts throughout the business. Responsibilities also include leading or supporting investigation work, and the performance of SOX controls testing. You may also review the work performed by other internal audit personnel, including resources from co-sourcing firms. Principal accountabilities This position is accountable for the following end results:Assist in the design and execution of operational audits to ensure adequacy and effectiveness of the control environment, compliance with Company policies and procedures, and find opportunities for process improvementsParticipate in and eventually lead small to complex and large and/or confidential audits with limited management oversight in addition to actively participating in the audit and performing audit workDevelop preliminary findings and realistic recommendations to improve / enhance the internal control environmentWork with management to develop acceptable solutions to address issues or gaps identified and follow-up to ensure remediation is implementedPrepare accurate, logical and detailed work papers clearly describing the work performed, test results and conclusions reachedDemonstrate insights and understanding of the Company in identifying risks and potential areas for audit Minimum requirements and qualificationsUnderstanding of internal auditing standards, COSO and risk assessment practicesUnderstanding of risk assessment and internal control concepts, and experience in applying them to plan, perform, lead, and report on the evaluation of various business processes / areas / functionsWill be expected to follow the standards of conduct defined for the profession and as defined by the department.Ability to meet timelines set by department's management team and follow established internal work paper standards.Ability to work independently, with limited direction and guidance, and provide appropriate direction to other internal audit project team members.Interact effectively and efficiently with management and employees within Air Products global organization.Possess strong business knowledge and proficiency in written and oral communication skills and the capability to communicate effectively and comfortably at all levels.Exhibit the leadership skills needed to present ideas and obtain management consensus for constructive changeUndergraduate degree in an accounting, finance, or business disciplineCPA/CIA designation5 years of public accounting or 5-7 years of private industry experience with knowledge of accounting, finance, and internal control areasPrepared to travel nationally / internationally up to 10% of the timeExperience in use of data analysis to identify risks and test controlsExperience in performing multiple projects and working with diverse team members.
