is responsible for providing successful in-classroom training and
IT support to a diversified audience for our major Healthcare
Network's/IT Department's electronic healthcare record system. The
credentialed trainer is also responsible for utilizing the current
Epic system applications as well as future IT project applications.
It will require flexible work hours to meet the needs of the user
community. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*
Develop a strong understanding of Information Technology (IT) and
the Epic application(s) as implemented at SLUHN.* Conduct clinical
software training classes for the SLUHN community of workforce
members as assigned based on credentialing competency.* Assist in
delivering training and communication of changes, enhancements, and
upgrade education by working with the Instructional Designers to
disseminate prepared and approved materials.* Demonstrates
competency in the curriculum and applications, demonstrating
growth, development and appropriate communication, in the
application(s) and/or role(s) for which they are credentialed.*
Recommend adjustments and updates to learning materials and
curriculum as needed.* Administer competency tests to end users.*
Respond to end users' needs and collaborate with other training
staff to identify and develop appropriate technology solutions for
teaching and learning.* Maintain training records in the learning
management system (My ELearning).* Support the SLUHN community
during system activation(s)/go lives, system upgrades, and SLUHN
campus/location openings, as needed/as assigned.* Provide status
reports, work product, assignments and updates for
projects/initiatives in a timely manner.* Act as a resource with
rotation on the clinical service desk and provide one to one
support for proper application use, workflow knowledge and provide
first call resolution for the IT and Epic applications.* Maintain
Level 2 support for training and workflow related issues.* On-Call
Support required (as assigned if necessary)* Maintains
confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/ Entity
as well as the proper release of information.* Complies with
Network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee,
patient and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting
requirements.* Demonstrates/models the Network's Service Excellence
Standards of Performance in interactions with all customers
(internal and external)* Demonstrates Performance Improvement in
the following areas as appropriate: Clinical Care/Outcomes,
Customer/Service Improvement, Operational System/Process, and
Safety.* Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability
through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily
procedures, processes and practices.* Complies with Network and
departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code.* Other
related duties as assigned.PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:Sit up
to 2 hours per day; 1 hour at a time. Stand for up to 10 hours per
day; 8 hours at a time. Walk 6 hours per day; 15 minutes at a time.
Consistently lift, carry and push objects up to 10 pounds. Must be
able to perceive attributes of an object through touch .Must be
able to hear as it relates normal conversation and high/low
frequencies. Must be able to see as it relates to general, near,
far, color and peripheral vision.POTENTIAL ON-THE-JOB RISKS:At risk
for cuts and punctures, being confined to small spaces, slippery
surfaces, assault and battery, radiation, chemical and biohazards.
Injuries from operating machinery, electrical or manual and back
injuries.COMMUNICATIONS:Must be able to communicate with other
departments, patients, families and staff.ADDITIONAL
REQUIREMENTS:Travel is required to network sites as needed for
training, classes, meetings and end user supportA current/valid
driver's license is required.MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION:Bachelor's degree in education,
instructional design, clinical field or equivalent combination of
education and experience is required. Experience with providing
training with an (EHR) Electronic Health Record is
preferred.TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:* This position requires
completion of the credentialing process including an intense five
to seven-week training program on the applications(s) you will be
teaching, competency checking, teach-backs and teaching the
application before a review panel prior to credentialing.*
Experience in a formal classroom setting with excellent classroom
facilitation/speaking skills and strong understanding of training
methodology* Strong communication, interpersonal, and
rapport-building skills required to work effectively with all
levels across the organization* Knowledge of the concepts,
standards and practices related to adult learning and educational
effectiveness* Knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for
delivering formal and informal training programs and evaluate their
effectiveness* Ability to express ideas and convey technical
information effectively both verbally and written communication.*
Well-developed analytical, organization, and presentation skills*
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team* Solid
computer skill proficiency and knowledge of business practices*
Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the user
community* Clinical background and/or knowledge of clinical
terminology and environment a plus* Ability to read, understands,
interpret and apply technical manuals and documentationWORK
