JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Verifies the medical order and protocol Completes and verifies documentation. - Explains the procedure and orients the patient to the sleep center. - Prepares and calibrates equipment. Applies electrodes and sensors. Performs appropriate calibrations. - Performs routine CPAP mask fitting. Follows procedural protocols to ensure connection of appropriate data. - Follows procedures to establish and document baseline values. - Performs polysomnographic data acquisition while monitoring study-tracing quality to ensure signals are artifact free. Identify and report signal abnormalities. - Documents routine observations including sleep stages and clinical events in order to facilitate scoring and interpretation of polysomnographic results. - Assists with appropriate interventions such as CPAP. PHYSICIAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Sitting up to 8 hours per day in 4 hour increments. Standing up to 4 hours per day in 2 hour increments. Walking up to 2 hours per day in 15 minute increments. Frequently uses hands to finger, handle or feel small objects. Continuous use of hands for writing, operating equipment, etc. Occasional twisting and turning of hands and body. Regularly lifting or moving up to 10 pounds, frequently lifting or moving up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 pounds. Occasional stooping/bending and reaching above shoulder level. Occasional crouching or kneeling. Hearing of normal, high, and low frequencies. Seeing as it pertains to general, near, far, color, peripheral vision, visual monotony, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: High School graduate or GED equivalent. 0 to 6 months polysomnographic experience. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Enrollment in A-Step Program and A-Step modules WORK SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week using 8, 10, or 12 hour shifts as needed. Primarily night shift with rotation as needed.
