Job Description Job Description Direct Counsel is seeking a
Litigation Consumer Finance Staff Attorney to join a growing team
in New Jersey. Location: New Jersey (hybrid: three in-office days,
two remote days) About the Role This position is ideal for an
attorney with at least 3 years of commercial litigation experience
, preferably with a focus on consumer finance, creditors’ rights,
and complex commercial litigation. The staff attorney will handle
matters involving commercial foreclosures, contractual disputes,
and claims under state and federal consumer protection laws,
including TILA, RESPA, FCRA, and FDCPA. Key Responsibilities Draft
and argue pleadings, motions, and other legal documents. Represent
creditors, including banks, mortgage companies, credit card
companies, and collection agencies, in state and federal court.
Handle disputes involving consumer finance and creditors’ rights.
Provide strategic guidance on litigation matters and assist with
complex case management. Collaborate with internal teams and
clients to ensure effective litigation strategies. Stay current
with changes in laws and regulations affecting consumer finance
litigation. Qualifications J.D. and admission to practice in New
Jersey and New York (in good standing). Minimum of 3 years of
commercial litigation experience; consumer finance and creditors’
rights experience preferred. Strong writing, analytical, and verbal
communication skills. Ability to work independently and
collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Team-oriented with
strong problem-solving skills. Compensation Anticipated annual
salary: $150,000 – $175,000 , depending on experience and
qualifications. Hybrid work schedule offering flexibility for
