company, has an immediate opening for a Manager, Standard
Adsorbents Technology in Standard Plants Technology at our
Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania.Standard
Adsorbents Technology provides expertise in the fields of
engineering, adsorption, and catalysis, including the development
of innovative technologies to produce industrial gases and to
improve the cost competitiveness, efficiency, and overall
operability of our plants. The Standard Adsorbents team is aligned
with the Standard Plants Product Line, which includes onsite gas
separation and generation such as oxygen vacuum-swing adsorption
(O2 VSA), hydrogen pressure-swing adsorption (H2 PSA), nitrogen
pressure-swing adsorption (N2 PSA), and PRISM Hydrogen Generator
(PHG) units. The team also works closely with Operations, Business
Development, Rotoflow and Gardner, and Standard Plants engineering
to develop new technologies.The Standard Adsorbents Technology
manager is responsible for directing the team's research efforts;
identifying high value projects to pursue; prioritizing workload
based on business need; acting as the single point of contact for
the aligned groups; driving technology development projects to
completion; and understanding and communicating the patent
landscape. The candidate is also an individual contributor who
provides expertise on product development, has an uncompromising
commitment to safety, and possesses strong laboratory and
communication skills.Principal accountabilities:Achieving 100%
compliance with all safety requirementsWorking with engineering to
identify key technology initiatives and critical skills to
commercialize new products.Supervising a team of 10-12 direct
reports and supporting their career developmentManaging technology
development projects from concept to commercialization, by building
a business case, gathering support, and taking the project through
our stage-gate processCommunicating results in written summaries,
reports, and presentationsContributing to intellectual property
activities, including competitor trackingInterfacing with the
Product Line, Operations, Gardner/Rotoflow, and Business
Development to support current initiatives and to facilitate
commercialization of new technologies.Working closely with
engineers and researchers across multiple disciplinesMinimum
Requirements & Qualifications:BS, MS, or PhD in Chemical
Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or related
field8-10 years of work experience, including technology
development. Field support experience a plusSupervisory experience
of individual contributorsProcess safety and experimental
backgroundExperience with process engineering, adsorption
technology, and catalysisDemonstrated track record of
commercializing novel technologies.Excellent oral and written
communication skills, and project management skillsAbility to
