is responsible for providing successful IT software training and IT
support to a diversified audience for our major Healthcare
Network's/IT Department's electronic healthcare record system. The
credentialed trainer is also responsible for utilizing the current
Epic system applications as well as future IT project applications.
It will require flexible work hours to meet the needs of the user
community.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop a strong understanding of Information Technology (IT),
Epic application(s), and third-party application(s) as implemented
at SLUHN. -
- Conduct in person and virtual software training classes for the
SLUHN community of workforce members as assigned based on
credentialing competency. -
- Facilitate training and communication of changes, enhancements,
and upgrade education by working with the Instructional Designers
to disseminate prepared and approved materials. -
- Demonstrates competency in the curriculum and applications,
demonstrating growth, development and appropriate communication, in
the application(s) and/or role(s) for which they are credentialed.

- Identifies and recommends adjustments and updates to learning
materials and curriculum as needed. -
- Administers competency tests to end users. -
- Maintains training records in the learning management system
(My E-Learning) and IT systems as per guidelines. -
- Responds to end users' needs and collaborates with other
training staff to identify and develop appropriate technology
solutions for teaching and learning. -
- Provides 1:1 support to SLUHN community on IT, Epic and
third-party application(s) for which they are credentialed.
- Supports the SLUHN community during system activation(s)/go
lives, system upgrades, and SLUHN campus/location openings, as
needed/as assigned. -
- Provides status reports, work product, assignments and updates
for projects/initiatives in a timely manner. -
- Provides Level 2 support to SLUHN community on the clinical
service desk for proper application use and workflow
knowledge.
- Provides first call resolution for the IT, Epic and third-party
applications while adhering to department standards. -
- Maintains Level 2 support for training and workflow related
issues. -
- On-Call Support required (as assigned if necessary) -
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: -
Sit up to 2 hours per day; 1 hour at a time. Stand for up to 10
hours per day; 8 hours at a time. Walk 6 hours per day; 15 minutes
at a time. Consistently lift, carry and push objects up to 10
pounds. Must be able to perceive attributes of an object through
touch. Must be able to hear as it relates normal conversation and
high/low frequencies. Must be able to see as it relates to general,
near, far, color and peripheral vision. -
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma / GED required
- Bachelor's Degree in education, instructional design,
financial, clinical, or other related field preferred
- Driver's License required
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: -
- 1-3 years of experience in a formal classroom setting or
equivalent environment with excellent classroom
facilitation/speaking skills and -strong understanding of training
methodology -
- Previous experience providing training with an (EHR) Electronic
Health Record is preferred
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and rapport-building
skills required to work effectively with all levels across the
organization -
- This position requires completion of the credentialing process
including an intense five to seven week training program on the
applications(s) you will be teaching, competency checking, teach
backs and teaching the application before a review panel prior to
credentialing. - Rounding/shadowing within network departments is
required to develop a practical understanding of application
documentation.
- Knowledge of the concepts, standards and practices related to
adult learning and educational effectiveness -
- Knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for delivering
formal and informal training programs and evaluate their
effectiveness -
- Ability to express ideas and convey technical information
effectively both verbally and written communication. -
- Well-developed analytical, organization, and presentation
skills -
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team -
- Solid computer skill proficiency and knowledge of business
practices -
- Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the user
community -
- Clinical and/or financial background and/or knowledge of
clinical and/or financial terminology and environment a plus
ability to read, understands, interpret and apply technical manuals
