10025! Job Title: Manager Profession: Nursing Specialty: Nurse
Education Duration: 13 months Shift: Flexible (4x10 or 5x8) Hours
per Shift: 40.00 Experience: Minimum years of experience required
in Education and Management/Administration with clinical specialty.
License: Registered Nurse with current registration.
Certifications: ACLS and BLS required. ONS Chemotherapy
Administration Certification required if assigned to oncology.
Must-Have: Demonstrated competence and progressive experience in
Education and Management/Administration and clinical specialty
assigned. Description: Leads nursing practice using the tenets of
the Professional Practice Model of Relationship Centered Care and
the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing for the
promotion of the patient experience. Projects and cultivates a
professional image to colleagues and communicates caring, respect,
compassion, empathy, and trust. Incorporates ethical principles
into the decision-making process for the patient and family in
collaboration with the clinical nursing staff and the healthcare
team. Fosters a spirit of scholarship, inquiry, lifelong learning,
and innovation for self and others. Disseminates knowledge and
skills relative to the role, patient population, clinical
specialty, and healthcare needs. Serves as a professional role
model and preceptor for new staff and students. Articulates and
integrates the values of research and evidence-based practice and
its application to nursing practice and the environment of care.
Contributes to the profession of nursing through leadership and
participation in professional organizations. Demonstrates
proficiency in all aspects of Hourly Care Checks and role models
expected behaviors. Ensures the integration of Care Checks into
clinical activities to enhance Relationship Centered Care.
Validates staff competency in Care Checks and provides consistent
meaningful feedback with more focused feedback as needed.
Communicates quantitative and qualitative information regarding
patient experiences to the staff and the Interdisciplinary Patient
Care Team. Collaborates with the Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse
Manager/physician dyad and escalates concerns as appropriate.
Follows up on all patient concerns in a timely manner and provides
service recovery as needed. Demonstrates caring, respect,
compassion, empathy, and active listening through dialogue, body
language, and actions. Oversees the development and implementation
of the nursing education budget, including capital equipment
allocation, and makes recommendations according to financial goals.
Maintains, reviews, and evaluates educational record keeping and
reporting systems and modifies as necessary. Conducts and
participates in meetings related to the area of assignment.
Conducts and participates in research activities including pilot
studies/initiatives related to education, healthcare management,
clinical practice, and other associated areas. Performs as a
clinical leader who actively creates and supports nursing practice
and an environment of care that reflects clinical excellence.
Demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and communication techniques
necessary to provide care based on physical, psychosocial,
educational, safety, and related criteria appropriate to the age of
the patients served in the assigned area. Identifies physical,
behavioral, and emotional characteristics typical for various age
groups. Modifies approaches based on patient age-specific needs and
