Active Registered Nurse License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS,
NIHSS, ENLS Must-Have: - Neuroscience ICU background - Strong
experience in EVD, ICP, angiogram post-care, CRRT, carotid,
embolization Description: Must have a background in Neuroscience
ICU. Candidates should possess strong experience in external
ventricular drains (EVD), intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring,
angiogram post-care, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT),
carotid interventions, and embolization procedures. Shifts are
Night, composed of three 12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15.
Flexibility with shift rotation between day and night is
encouraged. Weekend work is required, approximately every other
weekend, and holidays as needed. One hardship shift may be required
depending on the timeframe of the assignment. Candidates will
undergo a clinical review to determine a clinical fit before being
submitted for final approval. The unit provides care to critically
ill patients with stroke conditions and non-traumatic neurosurgery
and neurology needs, ages 18 and older. Care includes ICP
monitoring, care following IV and/or IA tPA administration,
mechanical thrombectomy, AVM repair, aneurysm repair, carotid
stenting, craniotomy, CRRT, ventilator management, and hemodynamic
monitoring. Additional responsibilities may include caring for
patients with COVID-19. The facility is tobacco and fragrance-free.
Floating to other ICU units may be required as needed. Candidates
must be prepared to assist in the management of patients with
multi-system organ dysfunction or failure. Experience with
continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, and titration of
cardiac and vasoactive drips is essential. Additional skills
required include interpretation of dysrhythmias, arterial line
management, blood product administration, and infection prevention.
