Schedule 3x12-Hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:30, floating required, with every other weekend requirement. Job Description The Medical Surgical Nurse will provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population, primarily senior adults and geriatric patients. The unit specializes in managing various medical conditions including diabetes, COPD, CHF, delirium/dementia, change in mental status, and post-operative care from the ED, ICU, and Progressive units. The nurse will work to ensure optimal patient outcomes through skilled assessments, interventions, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans. Administer medications and perform treatments as prescribed. Monitor and interpret vital signs and laboratory data. Provide patient education and support in managing their health conditions. Coordinate care with physical therapy, respiratory services, and other interdisciplinary teams. Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the Epic charting system. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Preferred charge nurse experience. A minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience is required. Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
