required for newly hired Special Procedures Technologists working
in Neuro Interventional Radiology. Existing employees must
demonstrate competency to perform NIR procedures.License: NY State
DOH Licensure or Limited Permit requiredCertifications: - ARRT
registered (RT) and radiograph (R) - ARRT Vascular Interventional
certification within 1 year of hire highly preferred - BLS
certification through the American Heart Association required or
must be completed within 90 days of hireMust-Have: - Excellent
communication skills (both verbal and written) - Ability to retain
composure under stress - Ability to work in a team and adapt to
different situations - Assessment skills - Attention to detail -
Planning and organizing skills - Sound problem-solving, judgment,
and decision-making skills - Stress tolerance Job Description: -
Perform special procedures, interventional imaging, and patient
preparation for procedures.- Assist radiologists as needed and
prepare, operate, and care for equipment in use.- Adhere to
established standards of care and customer service programs.-
Pursue appropriate continuing education and assume responsibility
for assigned areas and duties.- Prepare and position patients
correctly for specific examinations, observing different and
special requirements for each protocol.- Review completed scans for
quality and completeness per the type of test ordered.- Participate
in on-call rotation and respond to emergency procedures or
situations in the department.- Maintain the cleanliness of all
areas, equipment, and accessories.- Report malfunctioning equipment
to the Supervisor/Manager.- Perform routine office duties, such as
answering phones, checking previous reports/films, and utilizing
EMR and PACS systems.- Notify front desk staff upon exam
completion.- May be assigned as an instructor or preceptor.-
Educate each patient or family member regarding the ordered
examination.- Attend staff meetings and in-services.- Provide
patient care based on age, physical, and psychosocial stature of
patient populations, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and
geriatric groups.- Perform all other related duties as
