The Nursing Professional Practice Coordinator is responsible for and ensures that network nursing policies and procedures are maintained and include current evidence based practice standards and facilitates the implementation of practice changes as needed. This individual assesses, designs, implements, and evaluates educational programs and projects that support and improve the provision of patient care. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrates expertise in areas of clinical practice and the teaching/learning process to improve nursing practice and system processes.
Implements a periodic review (at least yearly) of all network nursing policies and procedures and modifies this schedule as necessary to ensure the inclusion of evidence-based practice.
Forms expert panels of nurses and other clinicians as necessary to serve as consultants and stakeholders in formulating, revising, and implementing nursing policies and procedures.

b) -Fosters communication with appropriate nursing committees
Ensures purchase and/or dissemination of appropriate evidence-based practice resources.
a) Recommends vendors and products for purchase
b) Ensures evidence-based resources are available as aids in developing and revising policies and procedures.
Facilitates the timely, accurate, and uniform roll-out of new or revised policies and procedures so that network nurses engage in best practices.
Serves as a consultant to Performance Improvement (PI) teams as needed.
Serves as a consultant to those responsible for developing specialty nursing policies and procedures.
Acts as a liaison to nursing faculty members to facilitate, supervise, and guide -the involvement of undergraduate and graduate in experiences evaluating, developing, and/or revising nursing policies and procedures.
Utilizes information systems, databases, and other associated technological resources to facilitate revision and development of network policies and procedures.
Reviews compliance with regulatory agencies related to assuring patient quality outcomes and safety including Joint Commission, DOH, OSHA, CMS, and others
Sit up to 8 hours per day; 1 hour at a time. Stand for up to 2 hours per day; 1 hour at a time. Walk up to 2 hours per day; 10 minutes at a time. Occasionally lift, carry and push objects up to 10 pounds. Occasionally stoop and bend, crouch, kneel and climb. Occasionally reach above shoulder level. Frequently finger and handle objects. Occasionally firmly grasp, twist, turn object with hands and fingers. Must be able to hear as it relates to normal conversation, and high and low frequencies. Must be able to see as it relates to general, near, far, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and visual monotony (e.g. computer screen).
MS in nursing or MSN preferred, or MS/MSN preparation within five years of hire. Masters degree in other health related discipline may be considered.
Minimum of five years recent experience in the inpatient environment with demonstrated and progressive management or leadership positions. Experience working as a member of network or entity committees, and/or in education positions preferred. - Must have firm grasp of basic tenets of evidence-based practice; candidate shall have completed collegiate evidence-based practice coursework or completed St. Luke's EBP program. -Successful project management experience required.
