Lehigh University Counseling Psychology Position Job Function:
The Teaching Faculty is an active member of the faculty in the
Counseling Psychology program. This position is a renewable,
non-tenure track, 12-month position. This individual coordinates
the training of future counseling psychologists, licensed
professional counselors, and school counselors (domestic and
international). The Teaching Faculty provides excellent teaching
and supervision to future psychologists and counselors, using
culturally competent and social justice-oriented pedagogies, while
coordinating opportunities for students to grow their clinical
Teach courses equivalent to 8 credits in fall and in spring
semesters (e.g., Advanced Doctoral Practicum; Masters Counseling
Practicum, Masters Counseling Internship).
Teaching/supervising responsibilities equivalent of up to 6 credits
during the summer.
Advise and supervise students in our Counseling Psychology doctoral
program and four masters programs (Counseling and Human Services
[CHS], School Counseling, and International School Counseling).
Organize and hold group meetings with students to provide
information about practicum and internship.
Organize group meetings on topics relevant to clinical training
including some presented by outside speakers (annual Mandated
Reporter Training for CHS and doctoral program, Student Assistant
Program [SAP] training for school counseling students,
Professionalism Workshop), some presented by alumni (e.g.,
information on careers, starting a private practice), and some
conducted by the Teaching Faculty (e.g., Suicide Assessment and
Hold individual meetings with students as needed, and provide
mentoring and guidance regarding clinical training and career
Attend Program Meetings, coordinate meetings with external
stakeholders (practicum and internship supervisors), and establish
relationships with clinical training sites and collaborators (e.g.,
mental health organizations, local and international schools).
Coordinate Practicum and Internship placements for students in our
Counseling Psychology doctoral program and four masters programs
(Counseling and Human Services, School Counseling, and
International School Counseling), including networking and
developing new relationships with new training sites.
Oversee and manage the software licensing needed for tracking hours
(e.g., Time2Track, SCUTA).
Manage the contracts and training agreements with training sites
and coordinate with Lehighs Legal Office.
Manage timely electronic collection (e.g., via Qualtrics) of
supervisory evaluations at mid-semester and end of semester.
Monitor developments in PenDelDot and NYNJADot.
Attend Lehighs School Counseling Advisory Board Meetings held on
Track student experiences at sites and post data regarding student
experiences on Course Site.
Prepare doctoral students for internship applications and
coordinate with the Training Director and advisors on providing
feedback to internship applicants.
Recommend updates to the program manual and training materials as
needed, and provide input and feedback to the overall training of
Participate in student remediation, when needed.
Other responsibilities as indicated by programmatic need and the
Program or Training Director.
Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Counseling Psychology or related field
Licensed Psychologist in PA or license eligible in PA
Eligible for all state-mandated clearances, including FBI Federal
Criminal history, Record (Act 114), Pennsylvania State Police
Criminal Records Check (Act 34), Pennsylvania Child Abuse History
Clearance (Act 151) and Tuberculous clearance
