Job Description:
Position Summary: Reviews manu fa cturing requirements and
determines the resources necessary to achieve the plan, then
time-phases the requirements to support the master schedule.
Develops and maintains detailed schedules and material requirements
lists for program schedule requirements and proposal efforts .
Works with engineering to determine raw material, raw material
costing and tooling requirements to support the program-manu fa
cturing schedule . Works with purchasing to ob tain and schedule
materials based on production schedule . Reviews manu fa cturing
requirements generated by engineering and determines the resources
necessary to achieve the plan, then time-phases the requirements to
support the master schedule. Also responsible for performing
planned versus actual budget analysis showing the manu fa cturing
history of ea ch end-item produced, detailing the planned and
actual cost information for material and labor . Determines
material requirements from engineering and production schedules.
Coordinates the efficient movement of materials with purchasing,
production, engineering, manu fa cturing engineering, and
scheduling. Plans pa rts requirements for assembly and subassembly.
Develops specifications for new contract orders. Pre pa res work
orders/purchase requisitions for the production or procurement of
components or pa rts based on a master production schedule, shop l
oa d and inventory requirements. Assists management in resolving pr
ob lems concerning over-shipments, shortages, engineering changes
and cancellations. Monitors and records status-to-plan data.
Oversees make or buy decision process. Sets reorder points.
Determines inventory. Coordinates shipping to ensure that program
schedules are met . Essential Duties and Responsibilities include,
but are not limited to: Responsible for coordinating the timely rel
ea se or work orders to production, utilizing the materials
requirements planning Plans and manages production schedules to
meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the com pa
ny’s productive ca pa city . Analyzes sales order rel ea ses with
respect to ca pa city planning and material requirements. Manages
inventory levels, schedules and availability of selected item,
either manu fa ctured or purchased , to meet production schedules.
Completes shipping information and delivery date input during sale
order reviews. Answer termination or cancellation requests from
sales. Orders floor stock with shelf life material for production.
Reviews work in process material sweeps from production floor.
Receives and reviews sales orders against current requirements and
work in process using the material requirement planning report. Rel
ea ses purchase orders for production material, floor stock items
and all purchases to support the business unit. May l ea d annual
physical inventory from planning stages through completion in
coordination with site Controller Inter fa ces with manu fa cturing
personnel, the purchasing de pa rtment and supervisors on material
status and production planning issues. Pa rtici pa tes in
continuous improvement efforts and takes an active role in follow
through of production support improvement activities Assists with
coordination, logistics , and expediting of outside sourcing
efforts Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Experience and
Education: Bachelor’s degree with 5-10 y ea rs of relevant
experience or Master’s degree with 3-5 y ea rs of experience
Minimum of 5 y ea rs in production control position in a manu fa
cturing environment Technical Skills: Ability to identify and
resolve pr ob lems in a timely manner or develop alternative
solutions Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office programs
and Windows operating s ystem Ability to thrive in a changing, fa
st- pa ced growing and dynamic business Detail oriented and able to
manage multiple projects simultaneously S trong written and verbal
communication skills Excellent organization skills and attention to
detail Physical Requirements: Extended screen time Long periods of
sitting Potentially long hours Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
