The Supervisor, Patient Billing and Collections is responsible for the training and coordination of the activities of the customer service team within Patient Revenue Services, which includes hospital and physician billing for self-pay balances. Ensures patient satisfaction while capturing optimal reimbursement and cash flow in accordance with federal and state requirements and all third-party billing contracts.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in the prioritization of work for the Customer Service team
  • Assists, when necessary, during high volume work/call times
  • Manages and/or maintains the necessary systems/equipment needed to accomplish the job duties of the staff within the billing office
  • Handles or assists with training refreshers for assigned billing office staff once initially trained on EPIC
  • Generates and analyzes accounts receivable aging reports, Work que volume activity, targeting areas that need attention
  • Responsible for the daily management, analysis and reporting of the EPIC system
  • Supervises the representatives, leads and Coordinators on a daily basis
  • Works with others on the management team to ensure that all Network and departmental goals are met
  • Performs periodic staff evaluations and formulates needed staff corrective action
  • Assists with the collection and review of team member productivity results and works with the team to make necessary improvement
    PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
    Sitting for up to eight hours per day, 3 hours at a time. Continuously fingering and handling for data entry, typing etc., and occasionally twisting and turning. Uses upper extremities for occasional lifting and carrying of up to 15 lbs. Frequently stoops, bends, or reaches above should level to retrieves files. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation and telephone. Seeing, as it relates to normal conversation and telephone. Seeing, as it relates to general vision. Visual monotony when reading reports and reviewing computer screens.
    EDUCATION:
    High School graduate required. Post high school education preferred.
    TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
    A minimum of 5+ years' physician or hospital business office experience required. Thorough knowledge of revenue cycle process including Registration, Billing and AR follow-up and payment posting process for all major insurances (minimum of 5 years of experience in this area). Experience with personal computers and Microsoft Office suite of products. Please complete your application using your full legal name and current home address.
